Digital Fundraising Lead

GetUp is looking for an experienced digital fundraising specialist to lead a culture of crowdfunding excellence at GetUp. In this role you will be responsible for supporting our campaigns teams to integrate fundraising into campaign and engagement strategies. You will take a lead role in ensuring GetUp fundraising emails are best in class, responding to fundraising data insights, convening key planning and decision forums, and identifying hot moments for flagship fundraising asks.

To be successful in this role you will need to bring experience in digital campaigning and donor analytics, as well as a proven track record of fundraising via email.

This is a permanent contract ideally based in Sydney.

SCHADS Classification Level 7 - 8, salary range $100,260.16 - $122,568.86 per annum (pro-rata) + superannuation, determined by relevant experience and qualifications.

The Digital Fundraising Lead is responsible for:

  • Overseeing and coordinating fundraising asks to ensure they are embedded in empowering member journeys;
  • Ensuring GetUp fundraising emails are best in class with strong member-focused theories of change across a variety of tactics and issues;
  • Ensuring Campaigns Teams have the support and training to meet fundraising targets, and agreed principles by which we make decisions around fundraising are understood and followed internally;
  • Working with analytics staff to understand and respond to donor behaviour, then with campaigns staff to translate insights into campaigns;
  • Convening key forums to monitor fundraising metrics and ensure a healthy pipeline, which include forward planning, coordination, decision making and evaluation;
  • Ensuring that fundraising is embedded in a strong team culture of analytics, experimentation, innovation and evaluation;
  • Identifying opportunities for, and occasionally executing, fundraisers across existing and new issue areas;
  • Owning external contractor relationships as they relate to strengthening member experience and fundraising;
  • Managing and supporting any direct reports to succeed, including setting and monitoring work outcomes.

You will be someone who is/has:

  • Passionate about growing and strengthening a movement of everyday people to take action for change on a wide range of issues;
  • An exceptional written communicator able to rapidly turn around hard-hitting copy in response to external moments in the media and political cycle;
  • Proven track record of delivering compelling fundraising appeals and hitting financial targets;
  • Ability to grasp key metrics and data analysis, and work with a wide variety of internal stakeholders to translate insights into action;
  • Good rapid-fire judgement and adept at thinking through complex policy ideas and communicating them simply and clearly;
  • Takes the initiative to do what it takes to get the job done, and who thrives in a fast-paced, digitally-savvy office environment; and
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience.

Bonus points for:

  • Working understanding of supporter-focused theory of change;
  • Experience running high-engagement digital campaigns end-to-end.

If even a couple of these criteria speak to you, you could be the perfect person for the job. Formal education, qualifications and extensive experience matter less to us than excellence, initiative and drive.
