Global Citizen

About Global Citizen

Our vision is a world without extreme poverty and our mission is to grow the number and effectiveness of Global Citizens to achieve the public, business and political commitments and action to end extreme poverty by 2030. Global Citizen Limited is a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) with deductible gift recipient (DGR) status in Australia.

We are inspired by the incredible progress achieved by the global community in halving the percentage of people living in extreme poverty in the last 30 years. We know that the injustice of living on less than US$1.90 a day can be ended.

We believe that when an organised, critical mass of individuals in society aspire to the values of Global Citizen, and when they are organised and equipped to take meaningful action, we can change the policies and practices that contribute to keeping people in extreme poverty.

On our platform, Global Citizens learn about the systemic causes of extreme poverty, take action on those issues, and earn rewards for their actions — as part of a global community committed to lasting change.

So far, more than 24.5 million actions have been taken by Global Citizens, leading to $48.8 billion in commitments being made by governments, philanthropists, and the private sector, which have affected 880 million lives. We are working to affect 2.25 billion lives by 2030.
