This position is responsible for providing 1:1 support to participants in the community and in their homes. We are seeking applicants with availability to work in South West Sydney and Bankstown Areas.

What you will do as a Community Support Worker?

  • Adherence to the Disability Service Standards, the NDIS Code of Conduct and practice standards
  • Provide 1:1 support in Participants home and Community of their choice
  • Assist Participants to achieve their chosen life goals and reach desired outcomes with Participants NDIS Plan
  • Provide interpersonal support to assist Participants in decision making, enhance participation in the community and maximise independence
  • Provide physical support and assist with mobility when required
  • Liaise with Senior staff in relation to Participant progress and ongoing supports
  • Liaise with Participant Families/Carers/Advocates of choice

Requirements – What will tick our boxes?

  • Relevant qualifications such as Certificate III, IV or Tertiary Degree in disability or community services
  • Experience working with people with an acquired brain injury or cognitive impairment
  • Demonstrated written and spoken communication skills
  • Sensitivity to and experience working with people from CALD backgrounds
  • Comprehensively insured motor vehicle + current drivers’ licence
  • Mandatory NDIS Worker Orientation Module Quality, Safety & You Training Certificate
  • Mandatory Health Requirements
  • Mobile smart phone
  • First aid certificate
  • Criminal record check clearance
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required

Terms of Business – Your benefits

  • Salary: SCHADS AWARD Social and Community Service Level 2
  • Great Casual Rates $36.00 plus per hour
  • Reimbursement for non support related expenses
  • Great team support and ongoing training
