Office Manager

We are looking for a dynamic and efficient office manager with great initiative to join our team at Highett Neighbourhood Community House. You will be the first point of contact for the public via telephone, email and face to face enquiries. You will be responsible for the general appearance, smooth running and administration of the centre including class bookings, room hire, using MYOB and working closely with volunteers.

Required skills

  • Proven administrative and organisational skills, including ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills, including highly developed word processing skills and evidence of use of Microsoft Office and Google Drive programs.
  • Experienced in MYOB accounting software.
  • Demonstrated ability, commitment and attitude to the provision of high-level customer service to all internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experienced in relating to people from a variety of backgrounds including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with a disability, those on low income or unemployed, young people and older people.
  • Experience writing and/or acquitting grants is desirable.

The position is based in Highett with occasional work at our sister site, Hampton Community Centre, and other events in the community. This position is a fixed term 12 month contract; four days per week from 8:45 - 4:45pm with an unpaid 30 minute break. The position is available for immediate start.

A Police Check and Working With Children's Check is essential for this position.
