The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to protect and assist people affected by conflict and violence and to promote the laws that protect victims of war. An independent, impartial and neutral organisation, the ICRC is based in Switzerland. It employs 20,000 people in 100 countries and is financed mainly by voluntary contributions from governments and national Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The Mission in Australia is seeking a full-time (100%) Communications Officer to develop and implement the ICRC’s communication activities in Australia.
The successful applicant will be motivated and innovative. S/he will be able to undertake a range of tasks, including media relations, media analysis, event organisation, and the development, production and promotion of public communications content and campaigns. A relevant tertiary qualification and five years of work experience in a related field are required.
