Assist in shaping the Cultural Centre, to ensure program outcomes are achieved and that children and families have an opportunity to engage with culture, education and other services.
- Assist to organise approved cultural activities that take place in the Centre and at other appropriate locations;
- Assist the Coordinator to identify and support cultural facilitators who may be conduct activities for the Centre and for local schools and services in the community;
- Participate in the all the Centre’s projects and activities;
- Promote the Centre and activities within the Palmerston community and grow the client base.;
- Directly engage with all relevant local service providers and the broader community;
- Support the Coordinator and community members to report to and take direction from a Reference Group;
- Assist to collect data, provide feedback that will inform the activities and physical space of the Centre as well as contribute to formal reports and evaluation;
- Promote the Centre to the broader community, ensuring that people are aware of its relevance to them and their families and to promote and develop social networks amongst children and families;
- Further develop stakeholder relationships in the Palmerston and Darwin community
- Participate in school cultural activities as required and support the transmission of cultural knowledge to those who attend
Larrakia and other indigenous persons are strongly encouraged to apply.
Experience in a similar role or community development/Social work / advocacy would be advantageous
