About the Role:

This newly created, regionally based Behaviour Support Planning Coordinator full-time ongoing position within the Life Without Barriers VDAS structure will provide:  ongoing planning, coordination and reporting support for the development, implementation and reporting of Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) and Authorised Restrictive Practices (ARP) activities within each region.

Reporting to the respective Regional Directors, the successful applicants will be responsible for accurately managing and sourcing BSP and ARP information from internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure that all data and information required on specialised Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) and Authorised Restrictive Practices (ARP) is maintained and reported on to meet both LWBs internal and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission’s (The Commission) reporting requirements. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Information sourcing and data entry - sourcing and accurately entering all relevant BSP and ARP information and data into the relevant databases in line with data entry guidelines and resolving discrepancies in information, by accessing and obtaining further level of detail and information where required
  • Monitoring, maintenance and reporting – monitoring and maintaining the national Tracker to provide clear, timely and accurate insight to allow oversight of the progress of BSP development and ARP reporting across the regional area and provide status reports and updates on a regular and or ad hoc basis
  • Documentation and preparation of reports -  as requested to support the National Behaviour Intervention Support (BIS) Team to provide information to The Commission on BS practices and data as necessary and in line with the requirements of the NDIS, the Victorian Disability Accommodation Services (VDAS) and external authorities.
  • Liaison and stakeholder management - liaising with and responding to requests for information from Managers, Behaviour Support Practitioners, and other operational units. Developing positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and service providers (House Supervisors, Behaviour Support Practitioners, Support Coordinators & Plan Managers).
  • Process management – coordinating and maintaining, cohesive and planned BSP processes and reporting of Authorised Restrictive Practice’s (ARPs) in a timely manner in line with The Commission’s requirements and objectives of the position 

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong information management, reporting and data entry skills supported by solid computer literacy skills and familiarity with database software and data entry guidelines and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities, good time management and excellent stakeholder management skills to deliver high quality, timely service delivery
  • Demonstrated experience in tracking key deliverables and milestones and actioning as appropriate
  • Understanding of the principles of Behaviour Support and The Commission’s requirements for BSP development and ARP reporting (Module 2 and 2a of the NDIS Practice Standards) desirable together with ability to identify inconsistencies and address errors in Behaviour Support reporting.
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent residency status is an essential requirement for consideration for this position
