About the role

Mind is a leading provider of community managed mental health services across Australia, working with people who experience mental health difficulties and dual disability to help them live a quality of life in their community in line with Mind’s Model of Recovery. The Allied Health team provides specialist services including behaviour support, assessment, intervention and support strategies for customers, families, carers and other service providers.

We have a challenging permanent, full time opportunity for a self-motivated, dynamic Occupational Therapist to provide quality therapeutic and mental health intervention support to customers across metropolitan Melbourne. Working from home, you will deliver meaningful client-focused services, clinical assessments, interventions and capacity building for customers with mental health support needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic support services to customers including assessment, diagnosis, brief intervention, treatment planning and evaluation, and education and research in line with professional and National Standards.
  • Deliver OT assessments (functional and sensory), behaviour support plans and short-term intervention methods that are person-centred and evidence-based.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of multidisciplinary team to facilitate the delivery of an efficient and responsive service to customers, families and carers.
  • Liaise with private health funders and relevant stakeholders regarding customers and facilitate provision of coordinated clinical care and treatment for referred clients.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary degree qualification in Occupational Therapy or other health related field with the ability to obtain registration with AHPRA.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise to meet customer service delivery requirements.
