Thinking about GP opportunities in remote and rural Australia? Live the experience of caring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities - but only an hour’s flight from Melbourne. The Mildura community is friendly, culturally diverse and provides amazing opportunities for an outdoor lifestyle in its warm, sunny Mediterranean climate. Our health services in Mildura, Swan Hill and Kerang provide a full range of medical, specialist and allied health services delivered in a culturally appropriate and respectful way.
As a GP of an Aboriginal Health Service, you will be working within a multidisciplinary team including Nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers and Community Workers.
Our goal is to improve the health outcomes and life expectancy of Koori people in the Mallee. Your role is to ensure that all service delivery is culturally appropriate and welcoming to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members of the Mallee community; including the provision of case management for patients with complex and chronic conditions and assistance with the delivery and promotion of primary health care.
You will be required to learn and exercise the use of the organisational computerised Clinical Information Systems (Communicare) and use evidenced based guidelines to underpin care.
In order to be eligible for this exciting role, you must hold either general or specialist GP registration with AHPRA and be eligible to apply for a Medicare provider number for referring, requesting and billing purposes. Work hours are between 8am and 6pm Monday to Fridays.
