Ngwala Willumbong (Pitjantjatjara for “Dry Place”) Aboriginal Corporation Ltd is an Aboriginal-controlled organisation (ACCO) that is devoted to providing high quality, specialised alcohol and drug rehabilitation and support services to meet the needs of Aboriginal people and their families.
The Public Intoxication Response (PIR) Nurse will contribute to the PIR team's operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services to service users. This role is critical in addressing public health issues related to alcohol and drug use, particularly within the Aboriginal community.
A key part of the PIR Nurse's role is conducting assertive outreach in the community. This involves actively reaching out to individuals who may be struggling with alcohol or drug use, homelessness, or other related issues. The PIR Nurse alongside Assertive Outreach Workers will work to engage these individuals, providing them with support, resources, and connections to relevant services.
