We are a community-focused, Aboriginal-led organisation that builds the collective power of our people and backs our leadership, skills and capacity to genuinely achieve self-determination in our community and on country.
Our vision: We dream of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities with all the necessary ingredients to self-determine our own futures and protect our country.
Our mission is to build the power, skills, capacity, and collective capability of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to genuinely self-determine what happens in our communities and on our country.
Original Power provides strategic advice and campaign support, facilitates capacity building, and connects communities in defence of country and in response to the challenges and opportunities posed by climate change.
The demands of climate justice require us not only to confront the climate crisis, but in doing so, build our capacity to ensure we are people who can confront all forms of injustice, determine our own futures, and help bring greater control and dignity to our communities. This includes ensuring economic participation in a clean energy future.
Original Power is a growing organisation with projects operating on a national basis and including defence of country and climate change campaigning, and renewable energy development in the Northern Territory and other locations. We are also supporting the new First Nations Clean Energy Network to grow www.firstnationscleanenergy.org.au

The Contracts and Compliance Manager will play a leading role in the development and management of Original Power’s portfolio of community-led renewable energy projects, with a focus on contract management and regulatory compliance.
Success in this role will require the ability to develop and maintain contracts and compliance processes, maintain a growing renewable energy asset base, and ensure regulatory and legal compliance to support the successful long-term operation and maintenance of projects across First Nations communities.
The Contracts and Compliance Manager will have strong project management skills and financial acumen, and will support a small and dedicated team of staff operating across urban and remote locations in Australia.
The role will work from home and will also be asked to travel from time to time to undertake project activity and participate in organisational gatherings.
