Kiama Community College Limited is a highly reputable not-for-profit adult community and high school education provider serving the communities of the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions.  

With 80 staff and an annual turnover of $5,000,000, we train in excess of 1,200 students annually.

Our purpose is “To empower, educate and connect individuals for a socially and economically inclusive community”.

About the Role

Stepping onto a ‘path well paved’, the new CEO is charged with executing the 10 year strategic plan early into its term. The CEO is supported and enabled by a capable team of Leaders, Educators, Support Workers, Administrators and Board members. The CEO has remit for a substantial Adult Community Education operation, spanning two campuses plus extensive outreach, and a small alternative high school known as Shoalhaven River College.

Delivering Vocational Education Training (VET) and school sector excellence, the agenda is one of innovation, double digit growth and realising potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on the strategic plan 
  • Maintain organisational stability and strong student outcomes
  • Manage and report to the Board on strategy, operations, performance and outcomes
  • Effective leadership of Adult Community Education and High School operations
  • Role model the behaviours of a values led and high performing team
  • Drive reputation and advocacy outcomes to position the organisation in the regions
  • Strengthen community and industry partnerships
  • Promote excellence and impact at every turn
  • Preserve strong cultural workings
  • Secure the organisation’s viability through fiscally responsible decisions; identifying new funding andrevenue streams
  • Ensure audit, risk, compliance and all legal obligations are met
  • Understand and work within policy and government frameworks

Essential:

  • Demonstrable leadership experience 
  • Proven competencies in strategic execution; people & culture; financial management; risk & compliance; stakeholder engagement; operational excellence; reputation and advocacy
  • Working with Children (WWCC) check [current or in application at time of applying]
  • Commitment to social, community and economic learning outcomes

Ideally:

  • For Purpose/Not For Profit/Community Services/VET background or similar
  • Enabling others experiencing disadvantage
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications
