ABOUT RADIO SKID ROW

Radio Skid Row 88.9FM is a non-for-profit, community run radio station located in the Inner West of Sydney. Our focus is amplifying the voices of diverse and marginalised individuals with a strong emphasis on supporting social justice and human rights.

Radio Skid Row offers the opportunity for flexible working conditions in dynamic and genuinely diverse team.

This is a First Nations position and Radio Skid Row is committed to supporting the coordinator in their own professional development through access to mentorship from station Alumni and industry professionals.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In the lead up to Radio Skid Row’s 40th Birthday the station is renewing its commitment to supporting Indigenous broadcasting. We are looking for a community member to fill the role of Indigenous Content Coordinator whose key focus will be supporting our First Nations broadcasters and volunteers.

In the legacy of Radio Redfern 88.9FM, we are looking for someone who is passionate about building a collective of Indigenous broadcasters within the station who can be the first point of contact for First Nation’s community members and amplify the issues most important to them.

This position would be suited to someone with connections to the First Nations community and a commitment to grassroots politics and community building. In this role you will be working with a wide range of people of all ages. Successful candidates will be open-minded, empathetic, and able to genuine articulate Radio Skid Row’s core values.

While radio experience is highly desirable, we are willing to make exceptions for the right candidate who has a willingness to learn production skills. Previous work for an Aboriginal Organisation or NFP will be highly regarded.
