The Foyer Practice Coordinator is pivotal to the success of the Foyer Foundation and to the quality of the Foyer network. It is responsible for upholding the integrity of the Foyer approach through the design and delivery of training, bespoke advisory services, consultation and practice support.

The Practice Coordinator works closely with staff within Foyers, and other stakeholders across the Foyer network to ensure that Foyer’s reflect best practices, the Accreditation standards, and meet the needs and aspirations of the young people they serve.

This role will support a thriving CoP where accredited Foyers can learn from and inspire one another and provide essential services to Foyers on their journey to and beyond Accreditation.

Who you are:

  • You have an understanding of the Foyer Approach and Advantaged Thinking, and are committed to integrating these into your work to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
  • You have proven experience in training design and delivery, and can provide bespoke advisory services, tailoring your approach to meet diverse needs.
  • Your communication and collaboration skills are exemplary, enabling you to effectively liaise with a wide range of stakeholders and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • You are a strategic thinker, capable of identifying and prioritising opportunities
  • You have a growth mindset and are comfortable working in an evolving start-up environment to manage multiple competing priorities and projects;
  • You believe every young person deserves a thriving future and are prepared to work effectively with young people who have lived experience of homelessness and create the space for them to lead;
  • You have strong digital capabilities and are proficient in the Microsoft and Google Suite of applications.

Key responsibilities

  • Working with the Head of Integrity & Growth, to uphold the integrity of Youth Foyers through the provision of the high quality service development and practice support to Emerging & Accredited Foyers, Community Service organisations & other stakeholders.
  • Designing & delivering training & bespoke advisory services to Emerging & Accredited Foyers & other stakeholders to support individual and sector wide service development.
  • Work with the Youth Team to ensure Young People are at the heart of all Integrity and Growth Projects.
  • Supporting the development of products that will accelerate the development journey of Foyers from Emerging to Accreditation and beyond, contributing to content and testing resources with Foyers.
  • Developing content & resources that support understanding of the Foyer Approach and Advantaged Thinking Practice.

Who we are:

Our purpose at the Foyer Foundation is to unlock thriving futures for young people aged 16-24 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. We do this by growing the reach and impact of Youth Foyers. Youth Foyers provide a safe and stable home for up to 40 young people, integrating housing, education, employment and life skills supports, all under one roof.

There are currently 16 Youth Foyers across Australia, and we are in an exciting phase of growth and momentum working towards 50 Foyers by 2030.

Youth Foyers are delivered by a vast network of service providers, big and small, across Australia, working in communities in regional, remote and metro locations.

The role of the Foyer Foundation is to connect up this network and align activities nationally, gather evidence and insights, ensure quality Foyer services through learning and accreditation, and advocate with young people and our growing network. We play an entrepreneurial role, driving innovation and continuous learning and improvement across the Foyer network.

We are a networked organisation. We have a small core team and strong relationships with many external partners and collaborators, working together to achieve our collective goal of 50 Foyers by 2030.
