Selection Criteria – Support Worker Level 1
The following is a selection of qualities we require for the role of a Disability Support Worker. When applying for this role please provide a statement no longer than 2 pages outlining your skills and experience relating to these areas. If you have little or no experience or qualifications, where possible try to relate it to your life and/ or other work experiences.
- Certificate III in Disabilities or higher/or willingness and commitment to obtain certificate within a reasonable time while in employment.
- Experience and/or knowledge in providing services to people with disabilities.
- Exhibit an understanding of the requirements and issues of people with high support needs.
- Ability to contribute as a team member and work under minimal supervision.
- Possess a high level of self-motivation, and the ability to use initiative and exercise judgement.
- Ability to take/support participants to access swimming activities
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Current ACT Drivers License - essential
- Current Working With Vulnerable People Check – essential
- Current completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module - essential
- Current First Aid Certificate – desirable but must obtain within 8 weeks of commencement of employment.
