The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

This senior Project Officer role supports the Manager in the implementation of the Communities for Children Facilitating Partner (CfC FP) initiative at Bankstown NSW. CfC FP is a place-based initiative that facilitates early intervention and prevention activities, builds community and sector capacity, and strengthens service connections and systems in order to improve outcomes for children and their families.

About our role

You will be responsible for project support:

  • Support and advise contracted service providers to ensure effective and responsive service delivery
  • Research, analyse and translate data and information related to community needs and service delivery responses
  • Provide administrative support to the Project Manager and Communities for Children Committee
  • Provide site management support to the Project Manager

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Balance sound technical skills, including measurement and evaluation, with a strong relationship focus
  • Demonstrate proven experience in working with community towards improved outcomes
  • Be motivated, a genuine team player and able to work with a small and passionate team in the delivery of a fast moving, place-based initiative.
