Overall, St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria has many arms and services. These include soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria, which provides a range of services and programs for people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and disadvantage. This includes crisis accommodation, drug and alcohol dependency programs, and housing.

It’s an exciting time to join the organisation as we have recently launched a new strategic plan that is future oriented and full of exciting initiatives. The IT Transformation team will play a pivotal role in delivering on strategic projects and helping the organisation to achieve operational excellence. 

A little about the Role

The Business Analyst will play an integral role in the organisation and the delivery of our new Strategic Plan. Reporting to the Manager IT Transformation, this role is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery and implementation of new technology solutions and services which support St Vincent de Paul Society’s new business strategy.

The role will be responsible for identifying business requirements and designing approaches to improve our customer service model and systems. You will be building strategic relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to develop analytical user stories that identify best practice methodologies.

As a good collaborator you will work closely with our teams within the organisation to plan, coordinate, and deliver technology solutions and services.

We have a lot of work to do in this space. In your first year you will work on:

  • Leading the analysis of large, complex, and high-visibility strategic initiatives and projects;
  • Developing business cases for strategic change across the organisation;
  • Working with the IT Transformation team to develop reports and dashboards to provide greater visibility and insights for the organisation;
  • Collaborating with external and internal stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and facilitate the commencement of solutions-focused projects;
  • And plenty of other interesting initiatives 

A little bit about you

You are currently working in a similar role and have experience in business and digital analysis. You are known for being responsive, approachable, and service oriented, you will confidently build connections with your key stakeholders and create positive working relationships.

You will be highly organised, detail orientated and driven by a commitment to delivering exceptional results. You will bring a "hands on" approach and be a proactive operator who thrives on developing relationships to achieve high stakeholder engagement.

More specifically you will have:

  • A formal qualification in Information Technology, Business, Statistics, Economics or a closely related field (required).
  • 3 + years’ experience performing business and digital analysis (required).
  • Experience in mapping business requirements and processes to the functionality of a product whilst identifying gaps and opportunities;
  • Knowledge of both AGILE methodology and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process;
  • Experience in Business Analysis & Planning, Design & Development, Quality Assurance, Implementation & Deployment, Release & Change Management, Maintenance & Support;
  • Experience in project management/coordination and project reporting;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good relationships with all stakeholders;
  • Ability to prioritise and balance competing or conflicting demands;
  • Well-developed time management skills, with an ability to meet tight deadlines.
