Information Service Consultant NDIS Specialist

The Information Service Consultant provides secondary consultation expertise related to NDIS policies and procedures, navigation and supports. This secondary consultation is in response to queries registered with the Information Service from people with disability and/or their close others, and providers from health, community and aged care sectors.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Support individuals to navigate the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the interface between NDIS and other sectors such as health, community and aged care.
  • Provide tailored and specific information that is translated to the person’s context.
  • Participate in ongoing development of the information service.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Client Relationship Management (CRM).

Skills & Experience

  • Expertise in NDIS policies and procedures, navigation and key supports such as support coordination
  • Expertise in the interface between NDIS and health, community and aged care sectors
  • Experience working with people with disability and complex care needs, including knowledge of housing and support options
  • Experience in translating information to individuals to achieve best outcomes
  • Ability to work autonomously and to collaborate with others based in different geographical locations with the need to connect regularly via video conferencing.
  • Capacity to respond effectively to all relevant stakeholders in a timely, professional and efficient manner via telephone or email - including people with disability and/or their close others, allied health staff, support coordinators, aged care providers
  • Commitment to work ethically with individuals and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to problem solve at a high level
  • Demonstrated professional written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Allied health or equivalent (preferred but not essential)

Additional requirements

  • Employment subject to National Police History Check
