The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

The Western Metro Homelessness Service is the Entry Point to services for the Brimbank Melton catchment. The service is home to a variety of programs from the homelessness, family violence and community streams.

THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Services Coordinator to provide direct and effective leadership, supervision and management to a multi-disciplinary team ensuring high-quality service delivery to the Support Services teams which incorporates Tenancy Plus, Accommodations Options for Families and Support for Families at Risk.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Develop the capability of the team through coaching and training
  • Ensure service delivery targets are achieved and delivered as per funding requirements
  • Service models/standards of practice and service performance targets are clearly articulated
  • Relevant service standards and program procedures are developed and adhered to and a commitment to continuous quality improvement is demonstrated
  • Client progress and outcomes are monitored, and assistance and specialist expertise are provided to staff to resolve complex case management issues

Reporting to the Homelessness Manager - Metro West this position will have 7.4EFT direct reports and is located in Sunshine.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a permanent full-time position, 38 hours per week.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010, level 6.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • Demonstrates knowledge of homelessness including context, causes, issues, philosophies and legislation
  • Understands and applies homelessness models, approaches, theories and practices when dealing with clients
  • Ability to understand and respond to the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or related community service field.
  • Experienced with working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities
  • Experience in managing staff and providing supervision
  • A current VIC Drivers Licence
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
