The Tenancy Plus Program operates within the State Social Command Victoria of The Salvation Army Australia Territory (TSA). The Tenancy Plus Program is part of The Western Metro Homelessness Service, situated in Sunshine. Tenancy Plus is a government funded program aimed specifically to provide support, assessments and referrals to Social Housing tenants with the aim of establishing, sustaining and maintaining successful tenancies The role is to provide direct service delivery to at-risk social housing tenants to prevent tenants becoming homeless and to establish and maintain social housing tenancies for those who reside in the Brimbank, Melton and Wyndham Local Government Areas

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a values-driven Tenancy Plus Support Worker to provide direct service delivery to at-risk social housing tenants to prevent tenants becoming homeless and to establish and maintain social housing tenancies. Other client key accountability areas include:

• Tenants have increased awareness of the range of services and supports available to assist them to maintain appropriate accommodation
• Tenants have increased self-efficacy and personal action through being able to seek supports and assistance when they are required
• Tenants will be in secure, sustainable, stable long-term accommodation (ie longer than six months)
• Tenants will be self-reliant and able to access services as required through self- referral
• New public housing tenancies are well established and linked to appropriate supports

Reporting to the Support Services Coordinator, this position is located in Sunshine.
