The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.

Oasis Youth services Central Coast Hunter partners with Salvation Army Eva Burrows College to deliver quality accredited vocational training to young people and long term unemployed in the Hunter and Central Coast region.

THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is to deliver high quality training programs with industry current assessment to meet identified learning needs. Support and encourage vocational learners to achieve their learning goal. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to implement quality initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver high quality training programs, including the delivery of classroom-based and supervision of students work placement.
  • Planning, design and scheduling of vocational training courses, in conjunction with Team Leader (Training)
  • Develop, adapt and implement assessments including recognition of prior learning
  • Training meets the needs of learners, RTO Standards, Eva Burrows College Policies and Procedures and industry requirements
  • Monitor student progress and maintain relevant training records
  • Mark submitted assessments within the required timeframe, providing meaningful feedback to the learner
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to determine priorities and develop integrated solutions that deliver key outcomes
  • Contribute to the evaluation program of RTO activities including compilation of reports with key learnings and recommendations to be incorporated back into future planning
  • Evidence of strong relationships with other team members
  • Demonstrated commitment to assisting and supporting colleagues in all workplace activities

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a part time position, 22.8 hours per week fixed term to December 2021.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • T TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Relevant community services qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in the field of vocational education and training in Australia
  • Demonstrated experience in community services industry
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering training to diverse participant groups, face to face, online and by distance
  • Demonstrate experience in working with people who have barriers to learning
  • Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
