We’re looking for an enthusiastic, people person with a passion for workers’ rights to join our dedicated and committed team at our Murarrie office. The role will be largely office based but will include some field work assisting in recruitment of members to our growing union.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills, customer service and phone manners, be proactive in their approach to work, able to manage competing demands in a multi-faceted role, resilient and calm under pressure, and not be afraid to get in and get the job done.

As a people person, you will be service driven and happy to roll up your sleeves to support internal and external stakeholders.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by phone and have the ability to show empathy to various situations workers can face in their employment relationship
• The ability to recruit new members both on the phone and in person 
• Data entry, putting on new members on our membership database
• General administration duties and office support
• Assisting other team members with ad-hoc work as required

The successful candidate will receive adequate training to perform the role including on our systems and procedures.
