The Hut Community Centre (The Hut) is a ‘for purpose’ centre that has been supporting the Adelaide Hills community since it was formed in 1979. The Hut’s mission is to enable opportunities that enrich the lives of our diverse community and works in collaboration with the local councils, governments, community groups and individuals. The Hut will work in partnership with community partners to develop and implement the Adelaide Hills Community Connections Program across the Adelaide Hills region.
We are recruiting for an exciting new position of Community Connections Coordinator (CCC) to help develop and implement the Community Connections Program across the Adelaide Hills Council region. The successful candidate will support community members whose independence and quality of life is at risk because they are disconnected from necessary support and face heightened vulnerability due to social isolation. Funded by the Department of Human Services (DHS) this is initially a two year fixed term contract position with a possibility of extension.
As the CCC, you will utilise your extensive knowledge of the local community and volunteer management skills to achieve program outcomes. You will assist participants to identify opportunities to engage in their local community and participate in meaningful activities. This will include identifying capacity-building activities, such as new community events/support groups or community inclusion initiatives to engage priority access groups, identifying new initiatives to support individuals and groups to participate in community centre life and developing outreach approaches to engage with new participants who may not actively seek out CCP services.
This is an exciting new opportunity that will help to influence the Community Connections Program at a state level while working within a supportive and vibrant community centre.
