about the role

The Informatics team is responsible for the day-to-day management, operation and improvement of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The team liaises with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders of the EMR and works collaboratively with the four Health Services and the Parkville EMR team to deliver outcomes that can benefit patients and staff.

The Senior Clinical Informatics Analyst will work collaboratively with the Women’s Informatics Team to contribute to the optimisation plan of the EMR and be responsible for reviewing and analysing EMR workflows to support RWH end users with a focus on delivering safe, timely and effective care.

Your contribution

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Design and build approved EMR enhancements to ensure that end users are effectively engaged in the continuous improvement of the EMR to continue to support and improve the delivery of care provided.
  • Deliver EMR communications and education to support the introduction of new build changes and EMR upgrades and other ongoing training needs.
  • Perform analysis of workflows, enhancement requests and other technical issues associated with the EMR and work with key stakeholder to develop functional and technical solutions that reflect an in-depth understanding of the user’s requirements.
  • Oversee training strategy and coordination activities for the EMR

About you

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • A sound understanding of EMR functionality to support clinical workflows
  • Advanced skills in workflow review and design and proven ability to deliver solutions that meet the needs of end users
  • Epic Application Certification and/or equivalent experience (highly desirable)
