  • Social Worker / Registered Nurse or Psychologist (inc. Provisional Reg)

Your duties in the role:

  • Early Intervention: To establish links with early intervention stakeholders within and across services, promoting early intervention in mental illness, establishing clinical pathways, community development and liaison
  • Increasing awareness of Mental Health: Liaison with Community Groups, government, and non-government community agencies to provide holistic health related services to the community
  • Care Co-ordination: To support and facilitate allocation of services. This may include educational, housing, drug and alcohol, vocational and employment programs
  • Clinical intervention: To provide an intake to consumers with a range of primary health and mental health needs
  • Advocating on behalf of the consumer with other staff, employers, schools, and other services
  • Maintaining service standards and quality improvement
  • Administrative functions

What are we looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience of clinical practice within the mental health field, with clinical proficiency in triage and assessment skills in mental health and ability to co-ordinate care
  • Ability to provide best evidence-based clinical practice; to collaboratively plan and coordinate a comprehensive bio-psycho-social approach and interventions to meet the needs of consumers
  • Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and to contribute to a culture of hope, optimism, and recovery
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Tech smart: Use relevant Information Technology and electronic recording systems and data management tools

Essential requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work/Nursing/Psychology/Occupational Therapy
  • Full or Provisional registration with AHPRA (RN/OT/Psychologist) OR eligibility for membership with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • If you are a provisional registered Psychologist it is essential you have some paid experience in the sector are currently working towards your full AHPRA registration
  • Current NSW Working with Children’s Check
  • Unrestricted NSW driver’s licence
  • Full working rights in Australia
