About the opportunity:
The Quality Assurance Officer oversees the Quality Assurance and compliance process, functioning as an objective body that conducts internal reviews and evaluates compliance issues/concerns across programs. As this role works within the Workways Quality Assurance framework, the incumbent will also assist with other reviews/accreditations in which the organisation participates.
The position ensures that the organisation is compliant with the rules and regulations of the Program Deeds, including the contract and associated guidelines, alongside compliance with Workways Policies and Procedures. Reporting requirements of the role inform the Workways Executive Management Team, Board and Board Sub-Committees.
Being a Quality Assurance Officer involves:
- Develop, in consultation with the Executive Management Team (EMT) and the National Managers, an annual audit schedule for programs.
- Conduct internal audits across program/s as per the annual schedule
- Attend monitoring visits facilitated by External Auditing bodies such as Accreditation Organisations, CoAct or the relevant State and Federal Government Departments, where necessary.
- Provide the EMT with regular updates and reports as required on contract compliance
- Provide monthly reports to the EMT on all audit activities undertaken, including Accreditation Organisations and CoAct compliance reports and activities.
- Maintain high level knowledge of current service delivery contracts, policies and procedures.
- Assist and participate in the maintenance of Workways Quality Assurance associated programs, including Workways’ ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and QAF compliance accreditation.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Workways managers and staff, Government Departments (as per Deed/s), and CoAct in relation to auditing requests / responses.
- Contribute to all Workways Quality & Risk Management Committee meetings (held quarterly)
About You:

- You have well developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, liaise and consult with a wide range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of compliance and auditing processes and associated activities
- Strong IT and report writing skills
- Demonstrated capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to interpret Contracts, articulate contractual requirements and establish mechanisms
- Ability to solicit, interpret and analyse information and recommend solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional working relationships.
- Demonstrated understanding of WHS & Risk Management processes and systems, and their relationship to business objectives.
- You are proficient in computer applications, including Windows and MS office suite.
- You hold a current drivers licence and are willing to undertake a satisfactory Police Check and Working with Children Card as a pre-condition of employment.
