Based in an idyllic rural setting in North Richmond, San Miguel family residential service provides intensive, individualised support to vulnerable young parents and their children.  San Miguel is a unique service that plays a critical role in keeping children safe and well and keeping young families together.  Parents and children receive support from a multi-disciplinary team through a combination of on-site and community based interventions that ensure children are engaged in safe, developmentally appropriate activities and their parents are supported to set and pursue family and personal goals.

Our family preservation model is one of a kind in Australia, we have the ability to be creative in how we work with families, we exist to meet the complex needs of children living with significant risks and aim to transform the lives of young parents and children.  For us it is about the children and families and not about the numbers.

The Parenting and Child Development Worker works in collaboration with the Case Worker Families and provides assessment and support to young parents and their children to improve their emotional and physical wellbeing, and improve parent’s skills in parenting and developing their children. You will develop and deliver activities that support children to be physically and emotionally safe, demonstrate improved behaviour and learn new skills and support parents to develop their parenting skills and build positive, secure attachments with their children.
