The General Service Board of Alcoholics Anonymous Australia has the primary responsibility to act as the principal planner and administrator of overall policy and finance as well provide services including the General Service Office to help ensure the growth and welfare of the fellowship.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Based in Rockdale, Sydney the Office Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the General Service Office. This will include a variety of administrative tasks related to finance, information technology, legal obligations, communications and the coordination of general services to the fellowship. The position is also responsible for the supervision of staff.

Reporting to the General Service Board the Office Manager will play a key role in overseeing the smooth operation of these critical functions and support the continuous improvement of services across the organisation.

SKILLS, COMPETENCIES & KNOWLEDGE

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field and/or
  • Proven experience as an Office Manager, Administrative Coordinator or similar role.
  • Financial management, budgeting or accounting skills with proficiency in Xero
  • Proficiency in office management tools, technology, and collaboration platforms including Google Workspaces
  • Lived experience, demonstrated service ethic as well as knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of Alcoholics Anonymous will be highly regarded
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, particularly when establishing new processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to support and engage with leadership effectively
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
