About the role

Permanent part time and casual (3-4 days/week) positions available, based in Mudgeeraba, QLD. Reporting directly to the Team Leader Client Services you will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating activities for people living with dementia and providing opportunities for involvement to maintain their skills and abilities and promote personal choice
  • Assisting in the development of individual support plans where appropriate and maintaining an up to date understanding of the person’s wellbeing needs
  • Ensuring that client activity and other appropriate information is documented in line with professional and legal standards.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following:

  1. Certificate III in Aged Care or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  2. Previous experience in a similar role within a community or respite service.
  3. Experience planning and facilitating age appropriate activities based on the interest of participants.
  4. Demonstrated experience and understanding of the impacts of dementia for individuals, carers, and their support networks.
  5. Embraces individual and cultural differences through genuine, courteous behaviours.
  6. Fosters teamwork by working together and cooperatively.
  7. Uses effective time management skills to plan, evaluate and organise work.
  8. Thinks, analyses information to understand issues.
  9. Communicates clearly and openly with different audiences.
  10. Provides service excellence by delivering client focused services.
  11. Valid full driver's licence required.
