We are bringing the finance function back in-house and we are seeking an Experienced Bookkeeper who has experience working for charities that have multiple funding sources, including grants, memberships and donations.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the future of our dynamic organisation. We have embarked upon an in-housing project to create a new internal finance and accounting team and you will be part of this exciting new development for ABA. In this new position, you will be responsible for delivering essential accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, supporting our paid and volunteer teams across the Association. Full handover will be provided by the existing team.
Your expertise will enable the seamless delivery of ABA’s accounting activities on a day-to-day basis. If you have a passion for keeping finances running smoothly and records accurate, join us to enable the ABA team and contribute to our growth and success.
End-to-end fortnightly payroll, including maintaining payroll records in Xero.
Assisting the Senior Manager Finance with budgets, forecasts and the annual audit.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts.
Providing support for our Volunteers across Australia, including answering finance and accounting related queries.
Minimum of 3 – 5 years relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within a not-for-profit environment, ideally with charities.
Minimum Cert IV in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
Experience processing end-to-end payroll, ideally under SCHADS award.
Experience using Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax, and Excel.
Excellent communication, collaboration and teamwork skills.
Exceptional time management, coordination, and prioritisation skills.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and error-free processing.
Flexibility to adapt to changes in processes, systems, and regulations.

This full-time role (38 hours per week) has been classified as SCHADS Level 4, $85,120 p.a excluding superannuation. As an employee of a charity holding DGR status, you are able to salary package up to $18,550 each Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) year.
