About the Role:

This role will lead the monitoring and evaluation of ACCR’s momentum towards real world emissions reduction in line with science, by listed companies, for the benefit of shareholders.

This will involve tracking and reporting on metrics, driving review and learning processes to build towards even greater impact, and ensuring effective communication of that impact externally to existing and potential grantors and major donors, as well as internally to staff and board members.

The position will sit within our recently formed Impact Team, which enhances ACCR’s impact by ensuring climate science informs our strategy, our execution delivers optimal impact, and that impact is evaluated and communicated effectively.

You’ll love this job if:

  • You get a buzz out of measuring and evaluating the real world change of a mission-driven organisation in ways that are meaningful to funders and other stakeholders. You know how to gather the data that matters and bring its importance to life.

  • You write well. You can quickly process contributions from technical experts and strategic thinkers to frame effective funder proposals and reports.

  • You have a nuanced expertise in relevant Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning and Impact Assessment frameworks and approaches, and are comfortable adapting them for more complex causative contexts. You hit the mark with the right level of complexity for the audience and purpose.

  • Organisation comes naturally - you are the one who is on top of the deadlines and deliverables, bringing everything together with good planning. Your forward thinking also enables you to respond to unexpected opportunities and requests when needed.

  • You would thrive among smart, purpose-driven people in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team. You’d love to use your skills to have an impact on climate change.

Responsibilities

The role will include the following types of tasks:

  • Driving the strategy for how ACCR measures, captures and reports on the momentum of our work towards our objectives, and the real world impact we make, to funders and internal stakeholders

  • Project management and development of proposals for grant funding, drawing on strategy and organisational plans developed across the organisation

  • Developing and tracking appropriate metrics and key grant deliverables in close cooperation with ACCR Team Leads, and overseeing the contributions from all staff into relevant processes

  • Maintaining strong ongoing funder engagement, including fully understanding each funder’s interests and requirements

  • As part of the Impact Team, being alert to opportunities to further ACCR’s impact and play a role as needed in pursuing those

Criteria

We are looking for someone with relevant experience, including the following:

  • Relevant experience in developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks that are relevant and realistic for an organisation like ACCR.

  • Experience in organisations seeking to achieve complex changes that involve multiple levers and influences, e.g. in advocacy, would be highly desirable.

  • Ability to analyse impact data, and engage a team to track and report on metrics as required and meaningful for supporter audiences

  • Excellent written communication skills, ideally with experience writing for a grantor audience

  • Strong interpersonal skills for cooperative cross-team working in a dispersed virtual workplace context and for sustaining grantor relationships

  • Effective planning and organisational skills

  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours at times; availability for occasional domestic travel (likely quarterly)

  • Alignment with ACCR’s mission to reduce real world emissions, and values including contributing to an inclusive and respectful workplace

  • Experience in relation to climate change, climate science, and/or ethical investment would be highly desirable.

If you don’t meet every point above, please still apply if you can see your skills well used in this role.
