The Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) is a not-for-profit organisation responsible for the training, assessment and continuing professional development of emergency physicians as well as the advancement of professional standards in emergency medicine in Australia and New Zealand.

The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate project activities for the ACEM Global Emergency Care Committee (GECCo) and Global Emergency Care (GEC) Desk, with a focus on ACEM’s Papua New Guinea (PNG) project portfolio in emergency care training, education and systems capacity development.
Reporting to the Manager, Global Emergency Care, this newly created position will support the growth of new initiatives for the ACEM Global Emergency Care Committee (GECCo) and Global Emergency Care (GEC) Desk. The GEC desk is committed to improving the capacity of Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) to deliver safe and effective emergency care (EC) through our dedicated and expert members.
Collaborating with the GEC Manager, this role involves:
The successful applicant will be strongly process-driven and have excellent analytical skills in the field of emergency care, global health, public health, public policy, international development or social sciences. Applicants should have demonstrated experience and understanding of supporting the growth and development of new initiatives preferably in the Indo-Pacific region. In addition, we seek applicants with experience developing funding or grant submissions and project proposals, effective and highly developed negotiation skills and an ability to work under limited supervision. ANCP experience is essential.
