The Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) is a not-for-profit organisation responsible for the training, assessment and continuing professional development of emergency physicians as well as the advancement of professional standards in emergency medicine in Australia and New Zealand.

The Position

We have an exciting opportunity within our Membership, Development and Promotions Department.

In this newly created position, you will be responsible for developing and implementing functional and sustainable marketing strategies to enhance the college’s visibility, member growth, educational engagement and sponsorship opportunities with a focus on all of ACEM’S Educational and Engagement opportunities including – Engaging as a ACEM Volunteer, ACEM Training Programs, ACEM CPD, ACEM Events and other ACEM Benefits.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting market research to stay updated on marketing trends, competitor actions (including other colleges), and audience segmentation
  • Acquire and review all forms of data to customize and present marketing strategies for all identified audiences
  • Drive engagement and promote ACEM benefits to a diverse audience including Members and Non-Members
  • In collaboration with Communication and Brand Strategy team, implement consistent messaging and branding across all marketing channels and products to streamline ACEM's core identity and values.
  • Explore opportunities for strategic partnerships with relevant organisations or institutions to expand ACEM's reach and influence within the emergency medicine community.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of marketing strategies using analytic tools and use insights to refine strategies and improve outcomes over time.
  • Meet regularly and work in liaison with internal stakeholders of the college
  • Presenting/Public speaking including presentations on market findings

We are seeking applicants with the following skills, attributes and qualifications:

  • Ability to develop long-term marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Proficiency in conducting thorough market research to understand customer needs, trends, and competitors.
  • The ability to identify different cohorts and segments
  • A solid understanding of how an association works
  • Strong understanding of various digital marketing channels such as social media, SEO, email marketing, and PPC.
  • Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to manage customer data effectively and personalise marketing efforts
  • Ability to analyse data and metrics to measure campaign performance and make informed decisions.
  • Capability to lead and motivate department team members to achieve targets and deliver results.
  • Excellent and articulate verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas effectively to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to others
  • Comfort with public speaking to present stratagies to various levels of stakeholders
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Previous experience working in a Marketing Lead or Marketing consultant role
  • A tertiary qualification in either Marketing or Public Relations
