Who is the ACF?

When it comes to our environment, the Australian Conservation Foundation has been leading the way in protecting our living world for over half a century.

We are the national environment organisation committed to caring for Australia’s unique and beautiful wildlife and natural world. We’re inclusive, non-partisan and funded by the Australian community.

Whether it’s advocating for the Great Barrier Reef, koalas snoozing in big old trees or for strong climate action, our dedicated community of more than half a million people are constantly working to create a world where forests, rivers, people, and wildlife thrive.

What’s the gig?

The Head of Digital Activation is ACF’s stellar in-house digital expert. With deep connections into the environment and climate movement and a strong background in mobilising, organising and campaigning online, this role is the key to deepening ACF’s connection to our mission.

You will lead a team of digital experts to do this every day. And you’ll use your digital thought-leadership to empower the team to create compelling experiences, content and actions that engage and inspire our community to protect nature. You’ll combine creative and technical expertise to lead initiatives that leverage our marketing technology to enhance supporter engagement, drive acquisition and increase fundraising.

This role is critical to the success of ACF’s campaigns. It leads the team that develops and delivers high-quality, scroll stopping, action-worthy engagement and mobilisation strategies and tactics to build ACF’s people power. The Head of Digital Activation uses data and judgement to remove barriers to participation, to reach audiences where they are and when they’re feeling most engaged and to harness the love they feel for nature and the fury at all those who are destroying it into action!

About you!

You’re a strategic, digital-savvy leader with over ten years' experience in digital campaigning, marketing, or fundraising, and seven years in team leadership. Your expertise includes crafting digital activation strategies that engage supporters, increase reach, and amplify fundraising results.

With a knack for storytelling, digital optimisation, and stakeholder collaboration, you have a proactive approach to problem-solving, a deep understanding of environmental advocacy, and a passion for building a thriving community of change-makers.

You’re curious and driven by the search for exciting and effective ways to activate people through inspiring stories. And you’re committed to building an inclusive and equitable movement where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Why work for us?

You’ll do important work with one of Australia’s most impactful organisations, and with our world-class organisational culture and great team, we guarantee you’ll have fun along the way.
