As a Leading Hand, you will provide supervision, guidance and support to Supported Employees, empowering and enabling them to perform work tasks and achieve their employment and personal goals, as detailed in their Individual Employment Plans; whilst achieving commercial outcomes.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision and guidance to a team of Supported Employees, that is in line with their Individual Employment Plans, to achieve their individual needs and goals.
  • Coordinate and allocate tasks to supported employees to maximise the effective utilisation of the team in meeting commercial targets.
  • By applying the organisation’s customer service framework, model quality service delivery through a person-centered approach.
  • Establish positive relationships with supported employees, families, carers and other external stakeholders to address practical issues, enhance operational efficiency and meet individual requirements.
  • Assist with the day to day operations of the factory to ensure a safe environment for supported employees and staff to comply with the organisations policies, processes, and procedures to meet the National Standards for Disability Services and all regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Ensure the timely provision of all mandatory reporting to meet the requirements of the Operations Manager.
  • If driving a forklift or company vehicle ensure compliance with the organisation’s relevant policies, and safe work practices.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager, and other members of management to regularly review operational processes and procedures to develop and implement initiatives supporting the continuous improvement of service delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge and understanding of issues affecting people with disability and their families.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff supervision.
  • Current NSW Drivers’ License
  • Current NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • High reach forklift licence
  • Experience working in a warehouse
