About the Role

PCA has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Communications and Events Officer to join their passionate and dedicated team. Working as part of the Communications and Events team you will provide administrative and communications support for important initiatives and projects, including the Oceanic Palliative Care Conference, National Palliative Care Week, Parliamentary Friends of Palliative Care and more.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Contribute to the creation and delivery of all aspects of relevant communication and marketing campaigns in line with corporate priorities.
  • Support the creation of material for publications, reports, and other communications across a range of mediums including electronic, multimedia, video, print, etc.
  • Work in collaboration with other staff to create and implement promotional strategies to generate participation and engagement in National Palliative Care Week and other promotional and marketing initiatives.
  • Provide support to deliver PCA's events, including the Oceanic Palliative Care Conference, PCA’s business development, corporate partnership, and philanthropy needs and initiatives.
  • Contribute to and coordinate social media activities, support activities connected to website maintenance and content, and develop/maintain relevant databases.

To be successful in this role, you'll have relevant educational qualifications and previous experience in communications and events management. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisting with the development and delivery of events such as conferences, symposia, and workshops.

As you will be liaising and negotiating with external and internal stakeholders, you will require well developed communication skills both written and verbal, strong interpersonal skills and experience in maintaining co-operative partnerships.

Additionally, you'll have strong administrative skills and be proficient in using Microsoft Office products and graphic design and communications software in platforms such as Canva, Adobe, WordPress, Hootsuite, MailChimp, and others.

PCA is looking for a team player, but you'll also be able to work independently and use your own initiative and judgement to really make this role your own.
