What's Pride in Sport, you say?

Pride in Sport is an ACON Pride Inclusion Program specifically designed to assist sporting organisations of all levels with the inclusion of LGBTQ+ employees, athletes, coaches, volunteers, and spectators. Our goal is to promote diversity, inclusion, and well-being within the sports community through innovative and impactful projects and initiatives.

  • Coordinate and execute fundraising initiatives, securing donations, sponsorships, and grants.
  • Assist in the recruitment of new Pride in Sport members and promote the benefits of membership.
  • Maintain accurate records and lead the acquittal process for funded projects.
  • Collaborate with the Pride in Sport team and other ACON staff on various projects to enhance the program.

Who are we looking for?

  • Someone with a thorough understanding of national, state, and community sporting organisations, including professional clubs and university sport.
  • A highly motivated individual with proven experience in leading and managing major projects and fundraising initiatives.
  • An advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusion with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A team player with a strong customer service focus and excellent communication skills.
  • Someone willing and able to travel nationally to support member organisations and attend relevant events.

If you have the drive to make a difference and the skills to support the Pride in Sport program, we want to hear from you!

What else can we tell you?

ACON provides a colourful, nurturing, and fun workplace. Our employees and volunteers are the foundation for our ongoing effectiveness and for our capacity to deliver innovative community engagement and health promotion programs and initiatives for our communities.

The Pride in Sport program is a small but dedicated team in ACON’s Pride Inclusion Programs division, with a national footprint. Seen as the subject matter experts of LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport, this role also provides an enthusiastic career driven person the opportunity to become well known across the Australian sporting industry.
