About Us

The Australian Community Support Organisation (ACSO) is a vibrant, values driven NFP, focused on partnering with Government and the community to co-design services that create real social change. We are an organisation with a bold vision to create a safe and inclusive community where prison truly is the last resort. Our purpose is to strengthen the wellbeing of our communities by advocating for and delivering services which divert people away from the justice system.

About the role and program

Our Client Services Unit (CSU) program provides administration support to ACSO's Community Offender Assessment and Treatment Service (COATS) team, who assesses individuals who have been mandated to receive alcohol and other drugs assessment and treatment across the state of Victoria. Client Services Unit provides a state-wide intake service that administers both state and commonwealth funded treatment pathways for clients in contact with, or at risk of coming in to contact with, the justice system. Our team organises appointments for specialist assessments for clients being considered for, or placed on, community corrections orders that include Alcohol and Other Drug Assess and Treat conditions.

The CSU Worker is administratively responsible for coordinating assessment and treatment services for clients of ACSO's Forensic Assessment & Coordination services. The position involves referral, intake, appointment booking, and treatment brokerage for clients referred to COATS.
