The Finance Business Partner works collaboratively with key operational and finance managers to provide proactive and effective management accounting services and financial advice, supporting ACSO’s strategic and operational activities. The role will act as the key Finance contact and subject matter expert for a portfolio of organisational programs and cost-centres, and both support and challenge the business to ensure that its strategies align with financial goals. The position manages effective internal/external relationships within their areas of responsibility and will partner closely with program managers and team leaders to monitor the financial performance of their programs and cost centres.
On a day-to-day basis the Finance Business Partner’s responsibilities include (however are not limited to): timely delivery of monthly and other periodic financial reporting and analysis, month-end close activities, coordination and preparation of forecasts and budgets, liaising with finance colleagues on activities within prescribed timelines (internal and external reporting requirements), reconciliations and acquittals as required.
Bachelor of Business / Commerce / Finance or equivalent
CPA/CA accreditation or near completion
5+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with experience in the NGO, Government sector, or similar organisation with complex funding arrangements and statutory requirements
Advanced Excel skills (essential)
Financial analysis experience (essential)
Experience in a similar role in the NGO, Government sector or similar organisation with complex funding arrangements and statutory requirements
Effective analytical skills to ensure integrity of data
Excellent computer skills Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Experience in integrated accounting packages such as Technology One (desirable)
Ability to understand and have empathy with ACSO’s work
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to deal with external suppliers / debtors
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people from all levels of the organisation (written and spoken)
Strong and demonstrated commitment and alignment to the ACSO Vision, Values and Mission.
