  • Full time, fixed term position available for approximately 12 months from late January 2025 - January 2026 (Parental Leave coverage)

About the role

The Data and Technology team seeks to empower ACSO's business units to deliver high quality, life-changing services using digital, data and ICT services and technology, and enable ACSO to influence public policy through data and analytics.

The System Architect will work as part of the Digital Development team to contribute to the development, support and maintenance of ACSO's Case Management Systems: Pega and Penelope.

The role will participate in all phases of the DevOps lifecycle: gathering and confirming user requirements with stakeholders, contributing to solution design and planning, developing/configuring the agreed products, testing, release and support and maintenance.

What we're looking for

  • Technical Expertise in Pega Platform: Demonstrated experience using Pega tools, frameworks, integration mechanisms, and development methodologies to build, support and maintain applications and products, specifically:
    • Application Layering, Case Management, Data Modelling, and Data Pages
    • Configuring dashboard reports, report definitions, and BIX extracts
    • Implementing integrations with external systems (e.g., databases, REST/SOAP APIs) for data exchange between Pega applications and third-party systems
    • Familiarity with debugging tools like Tracer, Log Analyzer and Clipboard
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Configuring Access Groups, Roles, and Access Control Lists (ACLs) to enforce security policies within Pega applications.
  • Software Development Skills: Proficiency in object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, .NET); knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and databases (SQL, Oracle); familiarity with integration techniques like REST, SOAP, and messaging queues (e.g., JMS, Kafka).
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to translate business requirements into technical workflows processes, assets and products within Pega; capability to troubleshoot complex technical issues within the Pega environment; strong ability to analyse and optimize workflows for better performance.
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication: Ability to collaborate with business analysts, end-users, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical solutions; clear communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Agile and DevOps Practices: Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (JIRA, Confluence); understanding of DevOps pipelines, CI/CD processes, and deployment strategies in Pega environments.
