ACT Down Syndrome & Intellectual Disability (DSID) aims to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities by providing support and information to their families, carers, schools, employers and other organisations.

We are currently looking for a Communication & Fundraising Officer to join our small team based in Pearce, ACT.

This contract will be offered for up to 15 hours a week until April 2025 with the possibility of extension.

The main responsibilities of the Communication & Fundraising Officer include:

  • Generating income through event and campaign sponsorship and other bespoke opportunities.
  • Event Coordination.
  • Development of monthly e-news.
  • Website maintenance.
  • Development of social media content.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (communication, business, marketing etc).
  • Experience developing and maintaining websites and social media platforms (Wordpress, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn etc).
  • Experience using Mailchimp.
  • High level of attention to detail required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions and work independently essential.
  • Working with Vulnerable Peoples Check.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a NFP.
  • Lived experience of disability.
