Our organisation

The Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) is the peak union body representing almost 2 million workers and their families.
Since our creation in 1927, the ACTU has spearheaded some of the most fundamental workplace struggles in Australia’s history.

The ACTU’s role as a peak body is to encourage workers to join their union, be a national voice for our movement, and advance and defend workers’ rights by co-ordinating union campaigns, representing workers at a range of government and non-government forums and to provide industrial, policy and other support to our affiliates.

The role

We are the peak body for the Australian union movement, and we’re looking for an experienced digital marketer to join our growing digital communications team.

As the Digital Campaigner (Performance Marketing) you will manage our political, educational and recruitment advertising across Meta, Google and other platforms as required. This role will draw on creativity, strategic thinking, and technical expertise to leverage our online presence and support the ACTU's campaign and growth objectives.

You will use your skills and experience to maximise the impact of our advertising, as well as delivering high-quality insights for decision making and identifying new opportunities.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the ACTU’s digital advertising program across Meta, Google and other platforms as required.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies.
  • Be across trends and new techniques in the digital advertising space.
  • Use digital metrics and research tools to aid in maximising the effectiveness of our advertising and deliver reports and actionable insights.
  • Be a part of the Digital Communications Team and contribute skills in other parts of the team as required.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience using Facebook Ad Manager and Google Ads.
  • Understanding of conversion tracking tools and the ability to report and analyse their effectiveness.
  • Keen eye for trends across digital advertising.
  • Knowledge of various digital metrics and using them to make data-driven content decisions.
  • A willingness to be part of a diverse and growing team.
  • A commitment to improving the lives of working people across Australia.

Content creation skills (Adobe or similar) will be highly regarded.

Benefits

The ACTU will offer the successful candidate an annual salary in the range of $93,959 - $104,283 dependant on skills and experience, along with an additional 15% superannuation, annual leave loading, working from home opportunities and generous leave arrangements (including up to 5 additional days of annual leave).
