Senior Marketing Insights Opportunity

  • Full-time permanent role working with the peak body for the Australian union movement, working to improve workers’ rights and lives.
  • The ACTU seeks to appoint a Senior Insights Researcher. The role will be responsible for designing and conducting marketing research programs including analysis, reporting, and the provision of advice to the ACTU and the broader union movement.
  • The ACTU is an organisation that respects cultural and social diversity within the workforce and the community. Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people of colour are especially encouraged to apply.

Our Organisation

The Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) is the peak union body representing almost 2 million workers and their families.

Since its creation in 1927, the ACTU has spearheaded some of the most fundamental workplace struggles in Australia’s history.

The ACTU’s role as a peak body is to be a national voice for our movement and defending and advancing workers’ rights by co-ordinating union campaigns, representing workers at a range of government and non-government forums and to provide industrial, policy and other support to our affiliates. Growing union membership and encouraging workers to join their union is a key priority for the ACTU.

The Role

Are you looking for a role jammed full of interesting and diverse insights projects?

Working with the ACTU Insights unit will give you the opportunity to traverse the research and insights landscape with every project you work on. We undertake projects that span from membership growth/retention through to collecting views on workplace issues such as wage theft and gender equality. We also undertake research platform integrations and rollout, segmentation, and concept testing to name a few.

The role also contributes to strategic and executional insights to inform organisational strategy and campaign development and execution. The variety of projects can range from a few hours delivery through to a couple of months, with tracking studies also undertaken.

A key focus of the role is collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation in areas such as digital marketing, product and software development, policy and industrial relations, education and training, media and public affairs, and much more! You will also work closely with our affiliate unions on projects aimed to foster union membership growth and retention.

The Senior Insights Researcher role is in the Insights Team, which sits within the broader Insights, Member Experience and Data Team at the ACTU.

Your job is to design and effectively implement a broad range of marketing research and insights projects, analysing and synthesising data from various sources and reporting and presenting results in clear and informative ways that drive insights led decision-making.
