WHAT WILL YOU DO?
We are seeking a Finance Officer for our ADRA Logan Central Community Centre. The Finance Officer plays a key role in managing the bookkeeping tasks for the ADRA Community Centre and the ADRA Op Shop, ensuring compliance with ADRA's policies.

- Processing Payments – Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments for the organization.
- Managing Accounts Payable and Receivable – Oversee the tracking of expenses and income, ensuring proper management of all financial transactions.
- Overseeing Payroll – Handle the preparation and processing of payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with relevant policies.
- Preparing Financial Reports – Generate regular financial reports to support decision-making and maintain financial transparency.
Essential Criteria
- Willingness to work within a Christian ethos with conduct that is respectful of the beliefs and practices of the Seventh-day Adventist Church when in the workplace or otherwise representing ADRA Australia.
- Relevant Qualifications: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 3 years of bookkeeping or financial management experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero), and strong ability in using MS Office (MS Word, Outlook, and Excel in particular).
- Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure accuracy in processing payments, handling accounts, and preparing financial reports.
- Organizational Skills: Efficient management of tasks such as payroll, invoicing, and reconciliations. Proven and demonstrated organisational and time management skills.
- Autonomy: Ability to work independently, ensuring smooth financial operations with minimal supervision.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with people from various backgrounds and ages and deliver excellent customer service.
- Ability to handle data accurately and with confidentiality.
Desirable Criteria
- Understanding of Non-Profit Sector: Knowledge of financial requirements specific to non-profits, particularly in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Proven ability to contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures that are fit-for-purpose, customer-focused and compliance with overarching protocols.
