Reporting to a Managing or Senior Lawyer, you will provide legal assistance to clients in areas of civil law particular to vulnerable and disadvantaged communities, and attend outreach locations to provide advice, consultations, and case work. Some work in our key practice area of family violence will also be part of this role from time to time.
In this role you will have the opportunity to provide clients with wrap around legal service, working collaboratively with community services and partners. This role involves proactive networking and community engagement, and the opportunity to identify systemic issues and think strategically.
ARC Justice is an independent, for-purpose, human rights organisation that incorporates the Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre, the Goulburn Valley Community Legal Centre and Housing Justice.
Through the delivery of accessible legal services and tenancy advice, ARC Justice not only provides support to people in regional and rural Victoria experiencing disadvantage relating to their housing, family, relationship, consumer, economic, social and civil rights, they advocate for systemic change to create a fairer and more inclusive community.
You will have the ability to engage with people who have complex vulnerabilities including trauma and you will have a commitment to improving human rights.
