ARC Justice is an independent, for-purpose, human rights organisation that incorporates the Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre, the Goulburn Valley Community Legal Centre and Housing Justice. We have offices in Bendigo and Shepparton and work with people in regional and rural Victoria who experience disadvantage relating to their housing, family, relationship, consumer, economic, social and civil rights.

About the role

We’re looking for a motivated, purpose-driven Senior Lawyer to join our team to help provide access to justice through our Family Advocacy and Support Services (FASS) program. In this role, you’ll help vulnerable community members with family law issues, with a focus on those affected by family violence. You’ll help to coordinate and deliver FASS duty lawyer services at either the Bendigo or Shepparton Federal Circuit Courts and provide casework and advice to priority clients. Your work will be holistic, offering wrap-around legal services to fully support clients. Join us at ARC Justice and help us make a real-world impact.

What you bring:

  • Experience providing legal advice, casework and representation primarily in family law including representing clients at the Family Dispute Resolution Service and various court events including urgent applications
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage with people who have complex vulnerabilities including trauma
  • A commitment to access to justice and equity principles
  • Experience networking and building relationships with a broad range of organisations and stakeholders
