We have offices in Bendigo and Shepparton and work with people in regional and rural Victoria who experience disadvantage relating to their housing, family, relationship, consumer, economic, social and civil rights.

About the role

We're looking for a motivated, purpose-driven Senior Lawyer to provide legal support to renters in private, public and social housing, focusing on preventing evictions and ensuring safe, healthy and sustainable housing. You’ll engage with the community, help design coordinated statewide renter services and work on identifying and addressing systemic issues through law and policy reform. This role involves working closely with ARC Justice’s disaster-focused Community Engagement Officers, enhancing our ability to respond to climate-related legal needs. What you bring:

  • Minimum of four years' experience (or equivalent) providing legal advice and casework in the civil law area
  • Experience in representation in residential tenancies law
  • A commitment to social justice through law reform
  • Ability to engage with people with lived experience of trauma and disadvantage
