  • Location: Onsite at 103-105 Kearney Drive, Aspendale Gardens 3195, hybrid – on negotiation
  • Award/agreement: Neighbourhood Houses and Adult Community Education Centres’ Collective Agreement 2018 Schedule 3B, equivalent to SCHADS level 3, $34.04-$36.05 per hour.

OVERVIEW

Aspendale Gardens Community Service (AGCS) is a busy and dynamic Neighbourhood House that has been operating for over 25 years within the City of Kingston. AGCS is a not-for-profit organisation offering a range of services to our local community including kindergarten, playgroup, programs and activities for adults, youth and children, as well as a range of community events. AGCS is a social house with many lively and active groups who enjoy being part of our extended community family.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Marketing & Communications Officer is a key member of our professional, efficient and helpful team and will work in close collaboration with the Centre Manager to support AGCS’s diverse, innovative and inclusive programs, activities and events. The role calls for creative thinking and planning, the ability to optimise term planning and to formulate and grow further opportunities in community engagement through marketing and communication.

The position encompasses a broad marketing and communications remit, focusing on the creation, development and implementation of effective marketing and communication strategies, as well as leading diverse AGCS content and publications.

DO YOU HAVE?

  • Significant experience in marketing and/or communications including the design and implementation of associated strategies
  • Experience in producing multimedia content for social media, websites and print publications including developing engaging, graphicly designed marketing collateral for diverse audiences
  • Excellent knowledge of social media management (creating, scheduling, analysis & reporting)
  • Intermediate to advanced level MS Office suite
  • Desktop publishing software skills (eg Canva) and familiarity with website management (development, maintenance), CRM and CMS platforms
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer experience skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A flexible and ‘can do’ attitude to work, with the ability to work in a very busy open office environment and balance their own work with meeting the needs of the public
