Are you passionate about helping Aboriginal Health workers and Aboriginal people to learn more about the importance of STI, HIV and BBV testing? Are you interested in finding ways to normalise the subject and help break down the shame and stigma associated with them? The Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia (AHCWA) is seeking a talented Sexual Health and BBV Program Officer to join our team to help coordinate The Birds and the BBV's course.

We’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
Ideally, in addition to the above, we are looking for a candidate who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and is accepted as such by their community, and has, or is, working towards attaining their Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

The position involves working within a multicultural organisation where the majority of workplace participants, clients and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Please note: In addition to the above skills and experience, the successful candidate will require an unrestricted WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence, and be required to submit a National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months) prior to appointment.
Applicants for this position must be legally entitled to work in Australia and will be required to provide evidence of this entitlement, such as an Australian passport or birth certificate.
