The Alannah & Madeline Foundation is a national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to keeping children and young people free from violence and trauma wherever they live, learn and play. Through our Care, Prevention and Advocacy programs, we fight for their right to be safe, so their future is strong.

We also support Dolly’s Dream to help change the culture of bullying by addressing the impact of bullying, anxiety, depression and youth suicide, through education and direct support to young people and families.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director, Development & Communications, the Head of Marketing is a key leadership role in the Foundation, responsible for developing and implementing an effective and inspiring brand, marketing and communications strategy to drive brand equity and supporting our fundraising and income generation goals.

You will lead a small team, oversee brand management, and implement innovative digital marketing, media and PR, and audience engagement strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the Foundation’s brand, marketing and content strategy and its integration across all areas of our work.
  • Anchoring all brand and marketing initiatives in our purpose, values and key principles (strengths-based, trauma-informed and rights-based).
  • Creating and embedding an innovative new content and social media strategy, leveraging digital channels and impactful storytelling to drive audience growth and engagement.
  • Building an optimised digital marketing strategy that uses data and insights to drive an improved personalised end-to-end customer/supporter experience across all brand touchpoints.
  • Managing the Brand & Marketing divisional budget, expenditure, and financial reporting.
  • Leading, coaching and mentoring a high-performing Marketing team.

This role is a full-time, 2-year contract formally based in South Melbourne. We promote flexible working arrangements, emphasising that work remains the primary focus, tailored to individual needs, role requirements, and the commitment to high-quality work delivery.

The Perfect You

If we could create the perfect you, you would have:

  • Significant experience developing and leading multi-channel marketing campaigns to achieve commercial or income generation outcomes.
  • Creative flair, with a knack for storytelling and developing inspiring content and campaigns.
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to producing high-quality content.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively and influence across teams.
  • Self-driven, positive and highly motivated, with a demonstrated track record of taking initiative to seek new and unique ways of reaching broader audiences.
  • Highly organised, with strong project management experience, and the ability to manage people and resources across multiple projects.
